The new yellow

"Yellow is a lively, energetic colour", says Johan Schop of Bloemenwinkel Barendrecht. "Use a splash of yellow in a bouquet to stimulate your customers."

"I think yellow is a fantastic colour. I wear it too, anything from a yellow scarf to yellow trousers. The great thing about fashion is how colours keep coming back, but then just a little bit different. Right now for instance there's a lot of yellow ochre and honey tones, as well as neon yellow. I tend not to make pure yellow bouquets; I prefer to use it to accentuate other colours. For example, when making up an informal bouquet with cornflowers, poppies and other summer flowers, I always add a touch of yellow – and Solidago would be good for this. Yellow also adds an element of surprise when used as an accent with pastel colours. you can use this to stimulate your customers."
