Light & white01-02-2012
White is the colour of winter, but also of spring approaching. Marnix Alderliesten of Roosmarijn Flowers & Gifts in Vlaardingen likes to make bright informal bouquets, but he can also appreciate the serene appeal of white. “The white Trachelium is a rather mundane flower. I see it as a challenge to use it for something special; our customers like surprises. White Trachelium is always pretty in an informal bouquet, but the flower heads also lend themselves to inclusion in a parallel bouquet. You can place it at a slant in a vase, to get a tuft. At the return of spring, I can easily imagine the Trachelium in an old Dutch bouquet, with bilberry and white spring flowers such as turban buttercups and anemones; lovely in a Delft blue vase.” Trachelium is available all year round. |
